A Mother's Choice

My husband and I were ecstatic when we learned we would be having our first baby. As we planned the new nursery and counted down the days, our friends started asking us the same question: Do you plan to vaccinate your baby? Many of our friends in Hollywood were choosing not to vaccinate their babies (or to delay vaccines) because they feared that they might cause autism or other disorders. We were torn.
We had never thought about not vaccinating, but when we went online to educate ourselves on vaccines, we found website after website warning us about their dangers. Naturally, we were very concerned about what we read.
We took the time to speak with several doctors about our concerns. They recommended that we explore several reputable websites -- sites that included scientific research supported by credible organizations like the World Health Organization, the National Academy of Sciences, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
What became clear to us after all of our research was that scientists around the world clearly refuted any connection between vaccines and autism or other disorders. Most importantly, I learned that delaying vaccines could jeopardize our baby’s life.
After my experiences I realized that many parents must be going through the same turmoil over this critical decision. I was determined to do whatever I could to help parents like us get the facts straight on this very important issue.
